happy international working women’s day ♥️ despite the overwhelming commercialization and defanging of it, remember that this day started with an event organized by the Socialist Party of America in the 1900s, and has always been about class struggle.. today i’m thinking of the worker-organizers who came before me, who demanded space not just for themselves but also other marginalized peoples within the labor movement, who knew – as Theresa Malkiel often said – that women’s liberation will never come without socialism, and that socialism will never survive without women.
